What is your official job title : Racing Broadcaster

Age: 46

Marital Status : Single

How long have you been a race caller – 23 years, going back to the old days of calling for Extel was where I started calling races even before SIS.

What job did you do before joining the industry : I worked in a furniture store – for an ex jockey!!

Age at the time of your first bet : 5 years of Age – on the Grand National

What was it : 10p e/w on Spanish Steps to win the 73 Grand National – beaten by the great Red Rum

What has been your best ever bet : Probably two, Dancing Brave to win the King George and the Derby and perhaps the most pleasing was following Sea the Stars from his 2 yr old career and then backing him to win all his big races including the Arc, which was the climax of a great year

Who is your all time Sporting Hero : Red Rum – he brought so much to the game and inspired me from such a young age. A true champion

Whose the king of the sporting world right now  – the undisputed champion : That’s easy – A P McCoy. It’s incredible to think that he has been so dominant for so long and that he is as accessible to the public in a £1000 claimer as he is on Gold Cup day. Day in day out his professionalism and attitude are beyond reproach at all time and he is the ultimate sporting hero. I was made up when he won Sports Personality of the year – great recognition for a true champion

What is your favourite sport  – Good jumps racing for me – any day of the week

Favourite Restaurant/Pub to eat in : I’m  paying where are we going? Some good places where I live in North Wales but amongst my favourites is Brookhouse Mill in Denbigh

Describe your perfect Racing day: A sunny spring day and the prospect of a great jumping card – it doesn’t get any better than that.

What’s the best sporting occasion you have ever been to : I have been lucky enough to see a lot of the best horse racing events and I love Arc Day at Longchamp but I think the Melbourne Cup – seeing Makybe Diva win her third consecutive Melbourne Cup was  extra special. It’s an incredible race in a great city.

If you could live anywhere in the world – where would it be: Great Britain for me

What’s good about Horse racing right now : A Golden era of jumping. Istabraq, followed by Kauto Star, Denman, and lately Big Bucks and Sprinter Sacre. It’s just wonderous stuff.

2013/14 Nap please :  Ahh, that’s a tough one to be put on the spot. However let’s go for Al Ferof to win the King George on boxing day. Happy Christmas to everyone when it goes in.
